DONE!
Yessss. All I'm going to do now is eat (I have not eaten all day! Forgot lunsh, got distracted..) and watch Eirik play Alex Kidd until I go to bed. And then I'm gonna get up super early and finish my model...
But still, the end is near! I give my presentation on Friday, and frankly, I'm so tired of this project that they can give me whatever character they want, as long as I pass this course! I got quite fond of working with Flash though. Too bad its kinda outdated now. Or at least soon.
I'll post my project sometime this coming weekend.
Good night!
I am not a robot! - but I sure feel like one today!
I have that song on my mind. "I am not a robot" by Marina And The Diamonds I mean. I love that song, and it really suits my mood today! I am super effective right now! I got up around 9 am and have been powerworking ever since! I think I can see the light in the end of the tunnel now! If I can keep this pace up, that is. But right now I need some lunch and a walk! Wish me luck today! Deadline in 7 hours!

Stressed out!
24 hours a day is not enough! We have 55 hours until delivery and Adobe Flash does NOT want to cooperate with me! Thank GOD this man is helping me out! Seriously!
Now I have to go buy some more fruit. I practically emptied the store for fruit the other day and now I'm out again! Good thing that problem can be solved in minutes.

Pedagogy, macro images and masquerade party!
Last night I had a dream where I was taking macro shots with my camera. I interpreted it as a sign that I had to take some macro pictures today. So I took a few breaks in between all the pedagogy reading I've been doing today and shot some! Busy, busy, busy!
| This one weren't that good, but I love the colours and shapes! |
I do love flowers and plants!
Now I'll try to figure out what to dress up like at the masquerade party I'll be attending tonight! I am absolutely positive that some milkshake and Wii will give me some inspiration! It IS Saturday, after all! I will post some pictures of my costume tomorrow i think - If I'm not too hungover or if the costume sucked.
See ya!

New header!
I was tired of the old header, so I changed it out. The picture is something I had left from my old laptop. I don't know where I got it from, even though I've tried to find out, so hope I haven't stolen it from somewhere.
But I like it. It looks a bit like me, on a good day. And with blue eyes.
Father's day
Yesterday was Father's day, an event I never remembers unless the media and stores remind me. So I visited my father and brother at Bekkestua and we all ate dinner together, for the first time at the new dining table! It was lovely, and after I had gone through the house looking for stuff that I "needed" for the apartment (a stand for my camera, my sleeping bag and a suitcase), he drove me back home to Oslo. The stand is after my grandfather, and I need it for the Sigma lens. I can't hold the camera completely still so the pictures suck so far. Thats why I haven't posted any. Yet!
Update on the Acne shoes! I won't buy them. I need winter shoes and a new straightener and I can't afford all of it! So I clicked a PINK one home this weekend, and I'm going out looking for shoes later on. All I have now is a pair of Converse (the thin ones) and rain boots. And its getting colder by the minute!

Top of my wishlist
At the top of my wishlist, you find these. Acne Admire. At first i thought; Wow, these shoes are quite...special! But in a good way though! And then yesterday, while on the prowl for new winter shoes, I did the fatal mistake. I tried them on!
They are so high, but still I was perfectly balanced. It's like when you stand on top of a house, you feel sick because it's so far up, but when you're in a plane, you loose all perspective because it's so high. I think the same thing happened to me in those shoes. I could walk around as easy as without shoes at all. They are so comfy! And tough! I want them! But can I afford it? I think I'll have to sleep on it. Payday isn't before monday anyway. Thats a good thing. I think.

The patent board, snow and cake
Today we went to the patent board (Patentstyret) and learned a lot about patents, rights, protection of designs and brands and if the fine lines between the different laws and rules. We even got Patentstyret candy! Very well-cast.
And we can see that the winter is right around the corner now, it's not really snowing yet, but we got a taste of it today! I'ts freezing outside!
Now im home for a bit to eat lunsh, drink some hot gløgg and read some more in the book I can't seem to put down these days - "Eat, love, live"!
And to get some leftover cake that I'm handing out to my class at the Merkeverdig class later!

Birthday Girl!
Yesterday I turned 22. Not a big deal, but I love birthdays! I love presents and cake and family. And now christmas is just around the corner! I celebrated with my family, my boyfriend Eirik and his family. It was so nice, and we had TONS of cake and chocolate! Just the way I like it!
| I baked the cheesecake in the front. Not my best looking one, but very tasty nonetheless! I wanted to have candles on it but I didn't have 22 of them. So two had to do for now. |
| We lit alot of candles! We're good at that. |
| Of course we lit the fireplace! We do live in Norway! |
And I did get of gifts - mostly money and giftcards (both needed and practical) - but one gift stood out, and that was the Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro that i got from my father and his girlfriend! I need to learn how to use it though, the pictures suck so far. But I'll practise on flowers and see where it gets me.
And as of now, I am starting a new and better life as a good blogger! I'm serious this time.
See you tomorrow!

PANG and Elvelangs
Last Thursday we had an event at school that we call PANG! The first, second and third year split into groups and we were given a small task, and a cage full of scrap! We were to create a light installation inside the cage and display it at the Aker river in connection with the Elvelangs festival. This is the cage we got!

Shapetank
Hello again! Wow, it has already gone over 20 days since my last blog entry. I'm a bad blogger! But I promise improvement!
Now I'll show you what we have been doing at school during the last two weeks. We have had a course called Shapetank, which lets us experiment in form and color, two-dimensional. Our class and the step below us were divided into groups of 4-5 persons.
We were given a theme, the SEVEN DEADLY SINS! We were to graphically express our understanding of one of the sins and submit a 70x100 poster at the end of each day. In addition we had one or more graphic tools we were to use on each submission. It was mostly focused on process, not so much on the finished product. This is what my group got to!
I was sick the first day, but the theme was PRIDE, with typography as a tool. My talented group made this:
The second day the theme was GREED, and the graphic tools were lines, surfaces and points!

| The large agressive red takes more of the yellow and the space than the passive calm blue one. |
The third day was all about LUST, rhythm and repetition!
![]() |
| I (yes, thats me on the bench, right there,) am objectified and passive while the creepy guy in the background (Daniel, not usually a creepy fellow,) stalks me from the shadows, and eventually moves closer. |
GLUTTONY made us all lose our appetites on the fourth day. The tools were transparancy and layers! We used that quite litterally.

![]() |
| This last one is a close-up. We poured greasy oil on transparent pictures of food to make them stick to the reflective background. The more pictures, food and oil, the less you could see the reflection of yourself. |
SLOTH actually affected us on our work that day. We felt kinda lazy and unmotivated all day! Foreground and background was the way to go on this one.
![]() |
| The lazy column wont do his part of the job. |
And the last day of sins we took on ENVY, armed with scaling. This one got threedimentional, but is looks good in 2D as well!

| Small and without affiliation he tries to hide his anger and envy from the larges three. |
At the end of the two weeks we held a little vernissage! I'll tell you all about it soon!
Later!

Gullkalven 2010 - Norwegian student mastery in creative communication
In February and March this year we had a project on product design, of which my group (Magnus, Christina, John and myself) made a disposable cutlery / tapas utensils, and we named it Undulat. Magnus thought our project was so successful that he proposed that we should submit it to Gullkalven (the Golden Calf), a Norwegian championship in creative communication for students. And due to lack of communication Christina and myself didn't find out until today that we won second place in the product design category! We certainly got a little boost of confidence in our own abilities! That made my day!
This is the article from their website.

PLAY: OSLO
"Theme: Identity and values. Methods of the theoretical weeks and the concept is the basis for building a brand. This will be a unique brand / service that clearly communicates the brand's benefits, character and values."
This is the task this week. We will come up with a concept to the task PLAY:OSLO. It is quite an open task. Our concept has to have an element of play in it, and it has to be in Oslo. Theoretically, of course...
Norwegians are a relatively rigid people, everyone will rather sit by themselves on the bus, etc. (I'm like that myself, unfortunately) We will have them loosen up a bit and engage the Norwegians in fun and play in public.
We got a taste from the mini-stunt from last week - the idea bench - but now we will work individually and theoretically. I'll try to carry out my project if possible!
I'll update a little about the project later!
And just in passing! Yesterday I received the anticipated student loan, so, I ran like a crazy person down to FotoVideo (PhotoVideo) located in Møllergaten and is now the proud owner of a Canon EOS 500D! Now to learn how to use it..

Hommin studio
Stumbled over this design studio the other day, and they had so many brilliant solutions that I simply must share some. This is how they present themselves on their website:
"Hommin studio is based in Stockholm, funded by Hung-Ming Chen. We are dedicated to design simple, functional product contacting to emotion and memory. We research on people's hidden desires and transform them to tangible object. "

Dream Catcher makeover and camera wishlist
I'm not feeling to well today today, and can't get myself to do much, so I though I'd post another creative project that has nothing to do with school! I bought these fantastic earrings at Topshop some time ago (unfortunately sold out now), but they were about 20 centimeters long and terribly heavy, so my earlobes nearly bleeded when I wore them. But I wanted to use them! So this is how they looked before I made some changes:
Dream catcher earrings, Topshop
This is how they look after I had dismantled them, taken a trip Tarturaga bead store at Majorstuen, and assembled them in a slightly different way. I made them into a pair of much smaller and more manageable - but still remarkable - earrings, and a long necklace! Haven't used the necklace yet though, I must come up with a neat way to finish it. The earrings, however, I've already used several times, and I love them! They blow up and tickle my ear, but otherwise they are surprisingly comfortable to wear!
I know the pictures are a bit crappy, I've taken them with my mobile camera. Had to use Lasse and Marias photos in the previous post - thank you for that btw - but I feel that I need my own camera soon! And this is desired to be realized when the student loan rolls in (I was a bit late to apply): A Canon EOS 500D. The latest is the 550D, but the differences are insignificant to the not so technological me, and besides, I know many others with the same camera and they are all very pleased with it!
I hope the student loan comes very soon! Over and out.

Branding and PR stunts!
Hi there!
Then it was time for my first serious blogpost. As some may know I am a student of Architecture and Design School in Oslo, where I am studying industrial design, third year. Here I'll share with you what we do at school!
We began with a flying start one and a half weeks ago, and these two weeks we are working on brand theory. We have done a lot of writing and analysis that is not interesting to post, but today we had the presentation of a task on branding, where we split up into groups and did tiny PR stunts around Oslo. Our goal was to promote the Institute of Design in a fun and inclusive way.
This is what my group and nyself - Rent Ark - which we called ourselves.
First we started as we always do, in a green zone, where we all throw out all ideas and no one get to criticize anything.
After we had chosen a concept to work with, a bench that people could attach their ideas on, we went into our great workshop, and began construction of the bench and the stand that would stand beside it.
Then we painted the bench white and formed and attached small balls of paper with ideas and sketches on, so people could continue on it. This allowed us to illustrate how it could be done for those who would (hopefully) do it in the park.
Vis romaniseringThis is how the bench and stand looked when we were "done" with it, ready to be carried out to Olaf Ryes place to be tested.
After setting it up we hid behind random trees, stumps and such, and observed how passersby reacted. The first half hour was fairly tepid, but it picked up later on!
This was the result after the bench had been out there for one and a half hour. People attached the strangest things. Note the snuff box. Very creative ...
We were supposed to make a movie as well, but it was not ready in time. I'll post it if it gets finished! Now I'll jump into my pajamas and read my book until I fall asleep. Bye now!
